Tuesday, July 25, 2006 - ROSWELL – (July 2006) – Mimms Enterprises recently inked a long term, 110,580 square-foot lease with Steve and Barry’s University Sportswear at its Perimeter Square Shopping Center in Athens, Georgia.

Wal-Mart had a 20-year lease on the space, but had not physically occupied the property at the time of purchase by Mimms Enterprises in April, 2004. Mimms terminated the existing lease agreement with Wal-Mart in order to finalize negotiations with Steve and Barry’s. Michele Del Monaco, Senior Vice President of Leasing for Mimms Enterprises, oversaw the deal. The projected grand opening for Steve and Barry’s is slated for November, 2006.

“There were so many moving parts to this deal that had to happen simultaneously,” said Del Monaco. “My team worked extremely hard to ensure that this lease was executed successfully.”

Opening its first retail shop in 1985, Steve and Barry’s University Sportswear currently operates over 130 casual and collegiate apparel superstores across the United States. They offer a large selection of clothing for the entire family; including jeans, t-shirts, jackets and collegiate wear.
