Thursday, September 02, 2010 - Mimms Enterprises announces the opening of The Market at Town Creek, a 57,000-square-foot shopping center 20 miles southwest of Knoxville in Lenoir City, Tenn.

Its kickoff tenant, Food City, opened its door Nov. 12 with a ribbon cutting, the Lenoir City High School marching band, and appearances by Lenoir City officials and the senior management teams from Food City and Mimms Enterprises, the shopping center’s development company.

The new Food City replaces an older store in a former location, and will include a Bakery-Deli, complete with a hot food-bar and a sit-down café; a floral boutique, staffed with a floral designer seven days a week; and a video department.

Food City is leasing more than 44,000 square feet of the shopping center, which is 90 percent occupied. AT&T and Bojangle’s restaurant are expected to open in December, and more retail stores are expected to follow thereafter, including Sports Clips, Regions Bank, TVA Credit Union, and Five Guys Burger and Fries.

Phase II of The Market at Town Creek is planned and will consist of 150,000 square feet of retail development and additional outparcels.

The Market at Town Creek, located at 300 Market Drive, serves as a portal to a master development called Town Creek, which is located just off of I-75 and Highway 321, the gateway to the Smokey Mountains. When built out it will have at least four components: The Market at Town Creek, a medical facility, a residential mixed-use community, and commercial development.
